June 17-18, June 20-21, June 25-28, 2024. Orange County Sheriff’s Range.
There will be a pre-qualification “shoot off” for all persons registering for this course. The shoot off will be June 4, 2024 0900-1200 at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office range. Students who do not pass the pre-qualification, will be given the opportunity to attempt the qualification on the first day of the course, provided they are within 10 points of qualification during the first attempt. Failure to qualify on the second attempt will lead to disqualification.
Daily schedule is generally 0700 – 1500 however there are night fire dates on June 21 (1500-2300) and June 26 (1400-2200).
Pre-requisites: Three years as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer and possession of New York State DCJS General Topics Instructor Certification. Note: Students may attend the Firearms Instructor Course without having previously completed Instructor Development, however, Firearms certification will not be issued until both courses are completed.
Course is free for Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County member agencies, $600 for non-member agencies.
