• Target Audience: Full- or part-time sworn police officers, special police officers with peace officer status, and juvenile officers.
• Format: Includes classroom instruction, a written examination, and graded practical exercises.
• Certification: Attendees receive training credit added to their DCJS Acadis platform profile.

• Juvenile Law & Legal Aspects: Updates on juvenile law, legalities of school-based policing, and SAVE Legislation.
• SRO Foundations: The history of school-based policing, the roles and responsibilities of an SRO, and the triad model (teaching, counseling, and policing).
• School Partnerships: Strategies for building positive relationships with students, faculty, and administrators.
• Student Safety & Well-being: De-escalation techniques, recognizing adolescent stress and suicide signs, dealing with special education students, and emergency response/crisis planning.
