Basic Course for Police, Class 02-26  start date is October 26, 2026.  The class will run from 10/26/26 – 4/15/27.

The academy address is 393 County Route 78, Middletown, N.Y. 10940. Course cost is free for Orange County agencies who have paid their department assessment, and $3000.00 for  Non-association, non-assessment paying members/agencies.

Basic Course registration, Medical form,  Acknowledgement of Training Intensity form, PT form, and Background Investigation certification must be received by 10/23/26. They can be mailed, emailed or hand delivered.

*NOTE* Course is for Police Officers who have been hired by a law enforcement agency. This is not a Police Pre-Employment Course. 

Regarding ammunition requirements: Rifle and shotgun rounds will not be needed until the Patrol Rifle Course portion is conducted. Agencies will be advised in advance.
