Welcome to the Orange County Police Chiefs Association web site
The Police Chiefs’ Association is the sponsoring authority for the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County Police Academy. The Police Academy is a certified, full-time New York State Municipal Police Training Council police academy that conducts the New York State Basic Course for Police, along with many in-service law enforcement courses.
The Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County Police Academy was formed in 2006. From 2006 to 2019, over 440 recruit police officers have been trained in the Basic Course for Police. Yearly, the Police Academy trains upwards of 400 police officers. In addition, the Chiefs’ Association and the Police Academy act in cooperation with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services to arrange training venues, county-wide.
The principle purpose of the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County is to provide a forum to work in cooperation with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, community agencies, groups, or other government departments to promote confidence, understanding, trust, competence and professionalism to achieve our law enforcement objectives.
